Prepare yourselves… you’re about to read (or skim) many many blog posts about food. Why? Because the food in Thailand is to die for. So, the first such post comes as I’ve only just arrived in Bangkok International Airport. I still have something 12 hours to travel or more before reaching my island paradise destination; but I’ve already discovered bliss.

It came in the form of Thai espresso (“Americano” style) and the best coconut ice cream on earth (yes, it even rivals Coconut Bliss). At 3:00 a.m. Bangkok time, noon back home, and approximately 26 hours after I walked out the front door yesterday morning, I couldn’t ask for much more than this! I have managed a few hours of sleep in-flight here and there, thanks in part to my brand new super comfy travel pillow (thanks Amy!).

But anyway, back to the food: I’m already salivating over the promise of fresh papaya, coconuts, mini bananas, mangos, dragon fruit, and those crazy little fruits that seem to have snake skin. Then, of course there are the coconut curries, the Thai-style noodle and veggie stir-fry, and amazing soups!

… fast forward a few days. The fruit, as expected, has been stellar. I’ve also indulged in my fair share of other yummies… here are a few pics for your viewing pleasure. And, I’m sure, more to come.
